In 2023, Pakistan launched the National Priority Sectors Export Strategy (NPSES) to boost trade and enhance global economic growth. Developed through a consultative process involving public and private stakeholders, this comprehensive strategy spans ten priority sectors over a five-year period (2023-2027). 

This initiative is a collaboration between the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Government of Pakistan. Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK government through the Revenue Mobilization, Investment and Trade Programme (ReMIT), they are working to support the development of the National Priority Sectors Export Strategy.

The NPSES focuses on sectors such as engineering goods, leather, processed food and beverages, fruits and vegetables, meat and poultry, pharmaceuticals, software development and services, business process outsourcing, logistics, and institutional coordination. All of these improvements made by Pakistan through the National Priority Sectors Export Strategy, could make the export-import industries more effective and efficient.
