According to a recent study by CEOWORLD magazine,  France has been ranked as the most fashionable country in the world for 2024, and Japan is included in the top 10. The reason is because Japanese fashion called Harajuku fashion in Tokyo is the most unique and quirky one. You may want to figure out the old-fashioned and the trendy stores. But you may think that you can’t haggle there, right? No worries, because in this article I’ll show you the flea markets and thrifting shops where you can haggle. Just don’t be too pushy!

 

1. MICMO - MIKUMO

Are you looking for old-fashioned or usually called as vintage clothes? You can buy the clothes here in Micmo store. Micmo or in Japanese spelled as Mikumo is located in Shimokitazawa. Here, you can discover bargains on second-hand clothes that cost less than market prices. Mikumo has six stores in Shimokitazawa, each well-stocked with American second-hand clothing from the 90s onwards. Both men's and women's items are available, with prices ranging from ¥1,000 to ¥5,000.

 

2. MODE OFF

Still, in Shimokitazawa, there is a store called Mode off. It is providing second-hand clothes as well. Mode Off is divided into three sections: women’s clothes, men’s clothes, and the 300 yen rack. Yes, you’re right if you notice that the price starts from ¥300.

3. OHI RACECOURSE

Also referred to as the Tokyo City Flea Market, this bustling venue can host up to 600 vendors on a busy day, offering a fantastic opportunity to find bargains. Most sellers display used clothes in piles on tarps, but you can also find fossils, gemstones, Japanese antiques, household items, and secondhand electronics. Here you can haggling, as prices set from the mainly private sellers can change.

 

4. HARAJUKU CHICAGO

Looking for an authentic Kimono that won't exhaust your shopping funds? Check out Chicago. The store is located in Shibuya City, a used clothing store that excels in offering 'real' vintage Japanese clothing: the Kimono. With prices between ¥2000 - ¥5000, it deals with such reasonable prices!

 

5. GOTANDA TOC BUILDING

The Gotanda TOC building is also called the Tokyo Oroshiuri Center (“Tokyo Wholesale Center”) Building. Constructed in 1970, the TOC Building is a mixed office space, shopping center, and restaurant building. The building is located in Shinagawa, about a 10-minute walk south of Gotanda Station on the Yamanote Line. Besides, most travelers have never known if they could visit the beautiful skies of a Tokyo rooftop here. This might called as hidden gem, and it might be your favourite spot as well.
