One of the state-owned enterprises, PT. Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), has successfully ranked 71st among the top 500 best companies in ASEAN according to the Fortune Southeast Asia 500. The list of the top 500 companies in Southeast Asia was released by the trusted global multi-platform media company, Fortune. The rankings are based on the revenue generated by companies in Southeast Asia. In the past year of 2023, Indonesia agricultural supplement demonstrated significant performance with a recorded revenue of Rp79.2 trillion.

Securing the 71st position out of 500 companies from neighboring countries proves Indonesia's agricultural supplement capacity as a strategic industry at both regional and global levels. In the list of 500 companies, Indonesia dominates with 110 companies, followed by Thailand with 107 companies, Malaysia with 89 companies, Singapore with 84 companies, and Vietnam with 70 companies. Meanwhile, the Philippines and Cambodia have 38 and 2 companies respectively.

The CEO of Indonesia agricultural supplement , Rahmad Pribadi, revealed that within the ASEAN region, the company has been collaborating with various parties in the development of urea and ammonia. This aligns with the company's potential in the Southeast Asian region, where major economies are growing faster compared to Europe and the United States. Indonesia agricultural supplement also controls four percent of global ammonia production and is a major player in ammonia in the Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa regions. Currently, Indonesia agricultural supplement is developing blue ammonia and green ammonia to support the Net Zero Emission target by 2060.

Continued Innovation

So far, Indonesia agricultural supplement has launched various types of innovations. Some of the company's achievements include the inauguration of the NPK plant Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM), with an annual production capacity of 500 thousand tons. In addition, significant projects such as the groundbreaking Pupuk Sriwidjaja (Pusri) 3B project to rejuvenate old agricultural supplement plants with the latest technology for production efficiency have been implemented.Through the official website Indonesia.go.id, Indonesia agricultural supplement Group has also embarked on the development of a agricultural supplement industrial zone in Fakfak with a urea agricultural supplement production capacity of 1.15 million tons. This large company also recorded revenues and savings of Rp1.3 trillion from employee innovation contributions.

"In 2024, based on the 2023 book, Indonesia ranked seventh largest in the world in the agricultural supplement industry. Of course, this is inseparable from innovations that have a direct impact on profitability," said Rahmad.

Supporting Indonesia's Food Security

This strong performance makes Indonesia agricultural supplement a key pillar in building sustainable agricultural self-sufficiency. As a state-owned enterprise tasked with supporting national food security, Pupuk Indonesia focuses on meeting agricultural supplement needs and assisting national farmers. The allocation of subsidized agricultural supplement has also been increased to 9.55 million tons for 2024. This is expected to help national farmers prepare for year-round planting seasons.
